Health Literacy Advisor™ Software
To help simplify health information before it gets to the consumer, Health Literacy Innovations introduces the Health Literacy Advisor, the nation's first interactive health literacy software tool to help communicators create clear health communication.
As a "health literacy checker," the Health Literacy Advisor streamlines the health literacy review process using six readability indices, including the electronic Fry-based formula, and taps into a glossary of 10,000 interchangeable terms. An add-in to Microsoft Word, the Health Literacy Advisor operates like a spell-checker and scans a document for its readability and its health literacy. When it finds words, terms, or writing that clogs comprehension or reduces health literacy, it highlights these terms and offers "health literate" alternatives.
Developed by seasoned health literacy professionals who understand that clear health communication can enhance health outcomes, the Health Literacy Advisor improves health communication one word at a time.
It is ideal for any health care provider, insurer, pharmaceutical company, hospital, association, government agency, or other entity who wants to make health information health literate.

The Health Literacy Advisor makes it so much easier to write to our audience instead of to ourselves. It is intuitive, simple to use, and very helpful to anyone who writes medical copy for a general audience.
